Finding the right clothing manufacturer is one of the biggest decisions a new brand makes. The right partner saves you money and time; the wrong one can sink a launch.
1. Know what you need first
Decide the product, fabric, rough quantity and target price before you contact anyone. A manufacturer who makes leggings brilliantly may not make good varsity jackets.
2. Where to look
- Search engines, with the product and country: "hoodie manufacturer Pakistan"
- Trade shows and sourcing fairs
- Recommendations from other founders
- Instagram and LinkedIn, where many factories show their work
3. Questions to ask every manufacturer
- What is your MOQ per design and per colour?
- Do you produce in-house or subcontract?
- How long do samples and bulk take?
- Can I see the factory by video call?
- What are your payment terms?
4. Always sample before bulk
Order a sample, wash it, wear it and measure it. Compare it with your tech pack. A good manufacturer welcomes feedback.
5. Compare quotes fairly
Make sure each quote covers the same fabric weight, decoration, labels, packaging and shipping. The cheapest unit price is often not the cheapest landed cost.
